The Capstans mentioned indicate the Plimsoll Fleetwinch range of under deck motor, single drum, vertical capstans manufactured to standard designs. Construction is in accordance with Classification Society regulations.
Both hydraulic and electric vertical capstans are available. The hydraulic capstans mainly consist of a warping drum, either direct driven by a hydraulic motor for lower capacity or driven by a hydraulic motor through gearbox with Interconnecting shaft for higher capacity. For electric capstans, the warping drum is driven by an electric motor through a gearbox with interconnecting shaft (if necessary). All the capstans are complete with a pedestal base frame to house the motor and gearbox.
Full range of electro-hydraulic power packs to operate the hydraulic capstan are provided upon customer's request, to suit the specification. Electric capstans are supplied together with the starter box. Capstan can be locally or remotely controlled depending on customer's specification.
Special designs are manufactured on request.
